Eat Well and Be Active

Staying fit, eating well and being active can help you stay healthier and stronger as you age. If you’d like to explore eating better, losing weight or adding some activity to your daily routine, we have classes that can help. Our Healthy Eating for Older Adults and Enhance Fitness classes are just for people 60 and over, and they are taught in a small-group setting so you can get to know others who are committing to healthy changes too.

Healthy Eating for Older Adults

This six-week class focuses on helping seniors make nutritional choices to help support weight management and the prevention and control of conditions like high pressure. You will become knowledgeable about healthy eating choices, physical activity and work toward developing healthier eating habits and eating behaviors. The program is led by two trained leaders and includes support from a dietitian or nutritionist. To find a class near you, contact Kristin Wilson, AAA 1-B Program Manager, nutrition & wellness services at kwilson@aaa1b.com or (248) 262-9226.

Enhance Fitness

This low-cost, hour-long group senior exercise class is held two to three times a week and led by certified instructors. It focuses on cardiovascular exercise, strength training and flexibility. It can help you become more active and energized, no matter what your current fitness level.

AAA 1-B supports classes in Livingston, Oakland, and Washtenaw counties. These classes are offered on an ongoing basis. To find out how you can attend a class near you, contact one of the locations below:
