The 15th Annual Solutions for Family Caregiver Expo brought more than 1,200 family caregivers to the Sterling Inn in Sterling Heights on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Guests visited booths representing nearly 100 non- profits and companies specializing in products and services for caregivers. Popular presentations were offered on keeping the keys, myths about Medicare, managing prescription medications, legal tips, VA benefits, caregiver survival, hoarding, how to find the resources you need, end of life planning and more.
“Respite Care at the Expo” was held on site making it possible for family caregivers to leave their loved one in the caring hands of qualified profes- sionals while they attended the event. This service is provided free of charge by the Area Agency on Aging 1-B, the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter and Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers.
